Thai Basil Seeds
40 Seeds Per Pack
Our Thai basil is grown right here on the farm and selected with cutting in mind. We are breeding toward taller plants with longer, stronger stems that work beautifully in bouquets and floral arrangements, while still keeping everything people love about Thai basil in the kitchen.
The plants produce fragrant green foliage, purple stems, and attractive flower spikes that add texture and height to a cutting garden. And yes, it is still completely edible. The leaves have that classic Thai basil flavor: aromatic, slightly sweet, and gently spicy with notes of anise and clove.
This is a great variety for growers who want something that can pull double duty. Harvest the leaves for cooking, or allow the plants to mature and flower for fresh-cut stems.
Because this is part of our ongoing farm breeding and selection work, some natural variation in plant height, stem structure, foliage, and flowering may occur.
Growing Instructions
Light: Full sun
Sowing: Start seeds indoors 4–6 weeks before your last frost, or direct sow outdoors after the danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed.
Planting Depth: Sow approximately 1/4 inch deep and keep the soil consistently moist until germination.
Germination: Typically 5–10 days in warm conditions.
Spacing: Space plants approximately 8–12 inches apart. For taller cutting stems, give plants enough room for good air circulation and strong growth.
Soil: Plant in fertile, well-draining soil. Thai basil appreciates consistent moisture but does not like waterlogged conditions.
Harvesting for Eating: Begin harvesting leaves once plants are established. Regular pinching encourages branching and additional leaf production.
Harvesting for Cut Flowers: For longer stems, allow selected plants to grow taller without frequent pinching. Harvest flowering stems when several blooms have opened and place them directly into clean water.
Growing Tip: Thai basil loves warm weather. Once summer heat arrives, plants can grow quickly and produce an abundance of fragrant foliage and flowering stems.
